Getting started

What exactly is a "routing pair"?

A routing pair is two routers running OpenWrt with WireGuard support: one stays at your home (the client router) and one goes to your chosen secondary location. Your traffic tunnels between them over WireGuard, so your internet appears to come from the remote router's location.

Do I need any technical knowledge to set it up?

None at all. Your routers arrive pre-configured with your personal WireGuard keys already loaded. Plug both into power and internet, and traffic is routed immediately — no apps, no CLI, no SSH.

What hardware do I receive?

Two compact routers running OpenWrt with hardware WireGuard support — pre-configured, pocket-sized, and ready to plug in out of the box.

Where can I put the remote router?

Anywhere with a reliable internet connection — a friend's place, your holiday home, your office abroad, or a family member's home in another country. The further away, the more useful it becomes.

Can I use my own routers instead?

Yes. Choose "Subscription only" at checkout. You'll need any router that supports OpenWrt and WireGuard, and some comfort with WireGuard config files. We provide the config; you handle the setup.

Pricing & billing

What does €2/month cover?

The subscription fee covers one routing pair — your personal WireGuard tunnel between two routers. Hardware is optional and ordered separately as a one-time purchase. You can order the hardware bundle at checkout or later from the shop.

Can I add more routing pairs later?

Yes. Each additional pair is €2/month. You can order extra routers any time from the shop and add them to your account from the dashboard.

How do I cancel?

Go to your dashboard → Billing → Cancel subscription. There's no lock-in, no cancellation fee, and it takes effect immediately.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The €2/month base price excludes VAT and card fees — these are added at checkout. There are no setup fees, no bandwidth fees, and no overage charges.

Privacy & technical

Does VPN Spot log my traffic?

No. We can only see WireGuard handshake timestamps (used to show "connected / disconnected" in your dashboard). We have no visibility into your traffic content, DNS queries, or browsing history.

How fast is the connection?

Speed depends on the WireGuard throughput of your routers and both internet connections. For most home use cases the bundled hardware is more than sufficient — your bottleneck is almost always the internet connection, not the router.

Can my ISP see my traffic?

Your home ISP sees only encrypted WireGuard packets going to the remote router — not the content or destination of your traffic. The remote location's ISP sees outgoing traffic as coming from that router's IP.

Does routing through a remote location affect all my devices?

Yes — every device connected to your home Wi-Fi benefits automatically. Laptops, phones, smart TVs, consoles — no apps or configuration needed on any individual device.

What if a router breaks or gets lost?

Contact us at info@vpn-spot.com. Replacement hardware can be ordered directly from the shop, and we'll generate a fresh WireGuard config for the new device.
